Repertoire
The ensemble’s repertoire includes around fifteen choreographies and is constantly being ‘updated’ – from the Muslim wedding traditions of Tuzi and Podgorica, to the dances of Albanian Catholics from Prokletije, the traditional dances of old Montenegrins from the Dinaric region, the sailors of Ulcinj, the people of Rožaje and Gusinje and many others, to the compilation of dances in one medley: ‘The Dances of the People of Montenegro,’ which represent the ensemble’s hallmark due to the message of multiculturalism and unity they convey.
Each of them is the result of the scholarly and artistic work of renowned Montenegrin choreographers.
All choreographies are performed in specially designed costumes, reflecting their unique character and authenticity.
They are also performed by all our members. Over 200 active ones, divided into five categories: the Performing Ensemble, Veterans, Youth, Children’s Ensemble and Pioneers.
