Traditional Costumes
Our collection of traditional costumes reflects the cultural diversity of Montenegro and its surrounding regions. Each garment tells a story through its colors, ornaments, and patterns, preserving the heritage of its makers.
The ensemble proudly preserves costumes from all ethnic groups living in Montenegro, crafted by the best and most awarded tailors in the country – Vaid and Nevina Turusković.
Many of these costumes contain original, authentic pieces, which are normally kept in museums but are occasionally brought to life during performances.
The ensemble is committed to continually renewing and enriching its collection. In the past two years alone, we have expanded it with 10 pairs of high-quality Montenegrin costumes, 10 fishermen’s costumes, 10 women’s Albanian costumes, 10 men’s vests and 10 pairs of opanci.
Additional tailoring work is ongoing, and a dedicated team of wardrobe specialists ensures that every costume is carefully maintained.
We also maintain a complete range of children’s costumes, reflecting the same attention to detail and authenticity as our adult collection. This allows our youngest performers to take part in the ensemble’s mission of preserving and celebrating Montenegro’s multicultural heritage.
